The Allegheny Health Network Wexford Hospital’s emergency department has been recognized with a 2022 Guardian Excellence Award. The award is presented by Press Ganey, a nationally recognized health care company known for its patient satisfaction surveys.

The Guardian Excellence Award distinguishes health care organizations that rank in the top five for patient experience. Press Ganey emphasized that AHN Wexford Hospital’s emergency department has one of the shortest wait times in the country. That wait time, on average, is 14 minutes.

The hospital also was lauded for providing emergency care services to children — saving parents from having to travel into the city for their children’s emergency medical care.

Press Ganey works with more than 41,000 health care facilities across the country to measure patient satisfaction and support quality improvement initiatives.
