Ryan 60th anniversary
Charles and Dorothy Ryan of Chicora will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family dinner.
Ryan married the former Dorothy Young on June 25, 1949, at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Chicora.
They have 10 children, Darlene Geibel of Chicora, Charles Ryan of Chicora, Dennis Ryan of Fenelton, Brenda Werner of Chicora, Marsha Sanders of Grove City, Ohio; Lisa Wahler of Butler, Bradley Ryan of Butler, JoeDee Ryan of Chicora, Todd Ryan of Chicora and Amy Spatig of Butler. A son, Jeffrey Ryan, is deceased.
They also have 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ryan is retired from Castle Rublen and Pullman Standard. He belongs to the Chicora American Legion, the V.F.W and the Mater Dolorosa Alter Society. He served in Europe in the U.S. Army.Mrs. Ryan worked at the former Spaide Shirt Company before her children were born. She belongs to the Chicora American Legion Auxiliary, the Mater Dolorosa Altar Society and the St. Joseph's Christian Mothers.The Ryans belong to St. Joseph Catholic Church in North Oakland.
