Jean M. Burgoon
Jean M. Burgoon, 86, of West Sunbury passed away at 7:18 p.m. Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Duquesne. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Keddie and Agnes Fey Keddie.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish. She also was a member of the parish council and the Women's Guild at the church.
She was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing and retired as a registered nurse after having been employed at Bashline Hospital and the Grove Manor Nursing Home.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and helping at the church.
She will be missed by many.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Jean Burgoon of Ingram; five sons, Robert Burgoon Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of California, David “Leo” Burgoon and his wife, Linda, of West Sunbury, Michael Burgoon and his wife, Karen, of West Sunbury, Stephen Burgoon of Slippery Rock, and Joseph Burgoon and his wife, Karen, of West Sunbury; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Campbell of West Sunbury and Mildred Cunningham of Florida; and one brother, David Keddie of Northeast, Pa. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Burgoon, who passed away July 14, 1995; two sisters; one brother, and one great-grandchild.
<B>BURGOON</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Jean M. Burgoon, who died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in West Sunbury with Father James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Alphonsus Parish.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>William F. young Funeral Home</B>, West Sunbury.
