Joseph C. Cihonski Sr., 85, a resident of Autumn Grove in Harrisville for the past two months, died July 25 at the Grove City Medical Center. He formerly lived at Five Oak Lane, Hilliards, Washington Township, for more than 30 years,

Born in Butler, Jan. 14. 1924, he was the son of Andrew Cihonski and Sophia (Okarma) Cihonski.

He was a maintenance man for Mercer Lime & Stone, Branchton, for 19 years.

Mr. Cihonski was of the Catholic faith.

He was an avid lottery player and liked to tinker with things.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Margaret E. Arblaster at the residence; two daughters, Tracy Stivason of Cheswick and Susan Cihonski of Tarentum; two sons, Joseph C. Cihonski Jr. and his wife, Vickie, of Grove City and Roger Cihonski of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine Ciconte of Delaware, Mary Stone of Delaware and Helen of Delaware; a brother, Victor Cihonski of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by Margaret's children, Judy, Audrey, Terry, Patricia, Beverly and Randy, who looked upon Joe as a father figure.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.'

James Lewis, church pastor, officiating.
