Robert L. Mellinger, 51, of Mars, formerly of Cranberry Township and Canonsburg, died Saturday morning at UPMC Passavant hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in McKeesport, Aug. 21, 1956, he was the son of the late Robert and Lorraine Zewe Mellinger.

He had a bachelor's degree in accounting from Edinboro University, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity. He also had a computer science degree from the ICM School of Business and was a computer technician at the Bender Corp. of Robinson Township

Mr. Mellinger was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.

Surviving are his wife, Ursula Koller Mellinger, whom he married Nov. 8, 2002; and two stepdaughters, Antoinette Pietrone of Carrick and Regina Pietrone of Pittsburgh. He was the grandfather of Logan Baldinger; nephew of Patricia Pakan of Stowe, Ohio; cousin of William, Kurt and Dwight Pakan and Barbara Bailey; son-in-law of John and Maria Koller of Fredonia; and brother-in-law of Wolfgang Koller (Trisha) of Milwaukie, Wis., Richard Koller (Mary Ann) of Fredonia and Angela Koller of New Castle. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Mellinger, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating.
