BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Rev. Gerald Whetstone, director of constituency relations at Eastern Nazarene College, will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at the Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68W.

A church winter indoor picnic will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the multi-purpose gymnasium at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road. Participants should take a picnic lunch and table games to share. Beverages will be provided.

BRUSH CREEK CHRISTIAN (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST)

Brush Creek Christian Church is holding a blessing of the teddy bears at 9 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1510 Haine School Road, Cranberry Township. Afterward, the teddy bears will be taken to the fire hall, police department and ambulance services to be given to children who are victims of crime, fires or accidents.

A "Service of Licensing" for Fred Davis will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Church of Wilkinsburg.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The annual Good Friday prayer vigil at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, is set at the church. Sign-up sheets for times from Good Friday evening through Easter Sunday morning are available at the church.

A video review of the 2003 Women of Faith Conference will be available at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Ritenour home. Participants should take a snack and pizza will be ordered. Tickets for the Pittsburgh conference are $59 per person.

A supply drive is being held throughout the month of March to support mission projects in Haiti and Honduras through Lifeline Christian Missions. A list of needed items and a collection box are located in the narthex. For information, contact project organizer Megan Gasparin.

COVENANT PRESBY

The Lenten drama, "It Is Done" will be presented at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

Marie Baird, theology faculty member at Duquesne University, will present a program on the basic beliefs of Judaism to the Seekers Class.

FIRST BAPTIST

Gerald Webber, president of the Continental Baptist Missions, Rockford, Mich., will be the speaker at the 7 p.m. kickoff of Missions Emphasis Month at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St.

The Berean Sunday school class will hold a spring picnic at 6 p.m. Friday in the Baptist Youth Center.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The Lenten retreat for senior youth of First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will be from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The Seder Meal for the communion class will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The junior youth retreat will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The combined Lutheran churches Lenten service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

FIRST U.M.

The Butler senior high and intermediate students from the youth group of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will meet for breakfast at 7 a.m. Thursday at Eat 'n Park. For information, contact the church office at 724-283-6160.

The church will be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza for children ages 3 through sixth grade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Adult supervision is required for children 5 years old and younger. There will be an Easter egg hunt, face painting, crafts, games, an Easter message and a treat bag for participants. For details or to register a child, contact the church office.

The Ground Zero youth from the church will be going to play laser tag from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Fun Fest in Harmarville. For information, contact the church.

A free presentation of the ACTS Easter Cantata will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary.

The new member orientation class will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in Wesley Hall. Lunch and child care will be provided. For information, contact the church office.

Olan Mills will take photos for the pictorial directory from 3 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Asbury Chapel. Members unable to have a photo taken in September or any new members should call the church office to make an appointment. This will be the last opportunity to be included in the directory.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The worship planning team of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

The personnel committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

An Easter egg hunt for children ages 1 through fifth grade will be held Easter Sunday during Sunday school. Donations of small wrapped candies can be dropped off by April 4 at the church office. Volunteers are needed to fill the eggs at 7 p.m. April 7. For information, call 724-443-2893.

GRACE LUTHERAN

A Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 220-226 New Castle St.

HILL U.P.

A visitor's gathering will be held following the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at the Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Visitors may meet with church members for a tour, followed by light refreshments in the fellowship hall.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Reservations are not required. Donation is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 children 3 to 12. Children 3 and younger eat for free.

Kingdom Ringers youth handbell choir will play at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church.

Reservations are needed for the Easter Fellowship Breakfast at 9:15 a.m. April 11. Volunteers are needed for serving and preparing food. Contact Heather Hinkle for information.

Easter flowers to decorate the sanctuary may be ordered in honor or memory of a loved one. Lilies, tulips, or hyacinths are available at $7 each.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

Tickets are available for the Women's Good Friday Breakfast, which will be held at 7 p.m. April 9 at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext. A full breakfast will be served, and seating is open. Tickets may be purchased for $4 at the church office. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Debra Cypher.

There will be a bake sale before and after the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service to benefit Penn Christian Academy Middle School's Field Trip Fund.

Noah's Park will hold its "Easter Celebration," for ages 4 through grade 5 at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will rehearse for the Easter musical from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The first meeting of the men's breakfast club of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will be at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Suzy Q's in Mars.

A vacation Bible school planning meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

The session, building planning and the fund-raising committees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday to prepare for the congregational meeting.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

Students attending the Praise Cafe will share testimonies during the Sunday service at Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets.

The Cub Scouts will hold their annual pinewood derby from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.

ST. MARK'S LUTHERAN

The seventh and eighth grade students of the Lutheran Youth Organization will meet for a Bible study and social hour at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Schramm Hall at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

The ninth through 12th grade students of the Lutheran Youth Organization will meet for a movie and parent discussion group at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the lounge.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at the church.

The Rev. Philip Williams will give the sermon at 7 p.m. Wednesday for the Lenten service at Grace Lutheran Church. Light refreshments will follow the service.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Holy Communion services will be celebrated at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St.

A healing service with Holy Communion will be at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A sign-up sheet is at the back of the church for a trip to see "Jesus Christ, Superstar" on April 10 at the Benedem Center.

The men of St Peter's are organizing a group to work on fixing up the property. For information, call Bob Gealey or George Corian.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

A time of refreshments and fellowship will be held after Masses in the social hall at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia.

A Mass for youth will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The youth group will sell hoagies for $5 after Masses on Saturday and Sunday.

The worship committee will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Tripping Thesbians practice is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive.

Communion will be served at 11 a.m. Sunday.

First Communion Class is slated for 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

A little youth meeting, for second through sixth grade students, is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

TRINITY PRESBY

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., will hold the first softball team practice of the season at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alameda Park, weather permitting.

In conjunction with the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Trinity members are supporting the troops by donating items to be sent overseas. A list of items needed is located on a table in the narthex and will remain there until the end of March.

VALENCIA PRESBY

Sunday is LOGOS Sunday at Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia.

VICTORY CHRISTIAN

Denise Graves, worship pastor and outreach director at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, will lead the 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Victory Christian Fellowship, 2126 Mystic Pine Trail, Cranberry Township.

WEST SUNBURY U.P.

The West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury, will continue celebrating the season of Lent at the Sunday service.

The fellowship committee will pack goodie boxes for college students and military personnel the first Wednesday in April. Donations of goodies or help with the postage should be directed to committee chairman Tom Morton.

This Sunday is the deadline to order Easter flowers.

A new young adult fellowship and study group will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. This event is for post high school members of the church and the community. WHITE OAK SPRINGS PRESBY

A potluck dinner and movie will be held at noon Sunday at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew. Members should take a covered dish.
