Everett T. Hartung
Everett T. Hartung, 96, of Verona, formerly of Penn Hills, died Saturday morning at his home.
Born Dec. 2, 1920, in Mars, he was the son of the late Frank and Lucille Welsh Hartung.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh as a metallurgical engineer, he was a foreman for U.S. Steel in Homestead.
He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Everett enjoyed square dancing with the Keystone Squares and bowling.
Surviving are two sons, David (Cherry) Hartung of Harmony and John (Susan Kohler) Hartung of Columbia, Md.; his daughter, Amy (Roger) Hartung-Jones of Accident, Md.; his grandchildren, Jordan (Shane) Galino, Jeremy (Shelly) Hartung, Matthew and Maria Hartung, Chloe Mills and Kelsey and Taylor Jones; his great-grandchildren, London, Lillian, Greyson, Cassius and Annie; and his sister, Frances Hartung of Mars.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Curry Hartung, by his second wife, Gilda Menninger Hartung, by a brother, Olin Hartung and an infant sister, Eleanor.
HARTUNG — Friends of Everett T. Hartung, who died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
