11:30 p.m. Monday - Anthony Hoskinson, 32, of Butler was arrested for drunk driving following a brief chase that began as police tried to make a traffic stop near Sixth and Hansen avenues.Police, during the chase, learned that the license plate on Hoskinson's vehicle had been stolen from another vehicle. The defendant was caught after stopping his vehicle and attempting to run away from officers. But he struggled with officers, who had to use chemical spray before taking him into custody, police said.Hoskinson is charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving without lights to avoid identification, failing to stop at a traffic light, driving an unregistered vehicle, and fraudulent use of a registration plate. He remains in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond.3:54 p.m. Monday - Matthew Dec, 35, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after a hit-and-run crash on Route 8 South near the Days Inn.Police said Dec fled after the crash but was found at the McDonald's restaurant at the Greater Butler Mart. In addition to DUI, Dec is charged with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and other undisclosed traffic violations.Jamie Strezeski, 42, of Butler, who was driving the other vehicle in the crash, was not injured.

7:17 a.m. May 2 - A school bus driven by David Young, 67, of New Castle and a vehicle driven by James Thomas Cavallero, 38, of Cranberry Township collided near the intersection of West New Castle Street near Main Street. There were two students on the bus at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.

9:53 a.m. Tuesday - A car driven by Jennifer Christy, 32, of West Sunbury struck a deer on Route 38 in Oakland Township.9:35 a.m. Tuesday - The tarp on top of an unidentified truck caught onto a low-hanging telephone wire and pulled down a utility pole along Route 422 in Clearfield Township. The truck did not stop and continued traveling west on Route 422. Anyone with information about the event is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.9:55 p.m. Monday - Someone threw an unidentified object at a sport utility vehicle traveling on Route 268 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. The object shattered the windshield of the SUV, driven by James Cotherman of St. Petersburg, Clarion County.Monday - A purse and a compact disc case containing 75 CDs were taken from a vehicle at the Tru-Serv parking lot in East Butler. The theft occurred between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. Jessica Burns of Butler owns the stolen property, valued at about $870.9:38 p.m. Saturday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Adam Neff, 22, of Chicora struck the rear of an SUV driven by Tracy Malinski, 42, of Prospect, at Route 422 and North Road in Franklin Township. Malinski, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Friday - Someone between 3 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday vandalized a piece of heavy equipment on Hooker Road in Concord Township. The excavator, owned by the state Department of Transportation, sustained damage to a headlight and sliding window. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.May 4 - An unknown amount of money was taken from a soda machine in a theft at Opie's Pizza, North Main Street Extension in Center Township.

8:14 p.m. Saturday - William J. Anthony, 47, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 268 in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.

8:30 p.m. Friday - A car driven by Christina Hughes, 16, of Grove City spun off Milbrook Road in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County and struck a ditch.
