Christmas Eve services will be held at the following churches. Unless otherwise noted, all services will be held on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will host a drama and musical presentation, "Why Christmas," during it's Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. Weather permitting, outside luminary candles will be lighted before the service.

Calvary Temple, Route 422, New Castle, will host a candlelight service at 7 p.m.

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will host a celebration for families and children at 5:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Sojourner and the Praise Chorus and Praise Band at this contemporary service.At 7 p.m., a variety of Christmas musical selections will be performed by the choirs and bells. The traditional service of scriptural lessons and carols will follow at 7:30 p.m.An 11 p.m. service will feature the Christmas drama performed by members of His Productions. A candlelight service of Holy Communion will conclude the service.

Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will host Christmas Eve Candlelight services at 6 and 8 p.m. Music will be provided by the handbell/chime choir: Jenny Taylor, Lyric Ackelson, Nicole Furl, Tammy Summers, Beth Yost, Tom Walker, Debbie Price, Joyce Moore, Patty Miller and Edith McCandless.

Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, will host a joint Christmas Eve service with North Washington Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m. The service will include the presentation of the Christmas Cantata, music by the handbell choir, carols and candle lighting.

Cornerstone Baptist Church, 386 Iron Bridge Road, Freeport, will host a Christmas musical at 7 p.m., performed by the church choir.

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will host a traditional service of lessons and carols, based on the King's College, England, at 7:30 p.m. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be served during the service.An organ concert will precede the service at 7 p.m.

CrossWay Church of the Assemblies of God, off Route 228, between Mars High School and Route 8, will host a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m.

East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth Street and Randolph Avenue, East Butler, will host a candlelight communion service at 6 p.m.

The English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, will host Christmas Eve services at 2, 7 and 11 p.m.A service of carols and readings will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 26. This will be the only Sunday service.

Faith Fellowship Alliance, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will host a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Ext, will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.The service will feature the reading of the Christmas story and Christmas carols. Communion will be served.A candle lighting and singing of "Silent Night" will complete the service.

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will host a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will host a Christmas Eve service at 10:30 p.m.Holy Communion will be celebrated during the service.A children's service will be held at 4:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, will host four Christmas Eve candlelight services.The 5 p.m. service will include a performance of the children's Christmas musical.At 7 p.m., a service will be held with music by the Bakerstown Praise Band.A Christmas meditation service will begin at 9 p.m. with performances by the Chancel Choir.A second meditation service will begin at 11 p.m. with music by the Chancel Choir and a performance of "Silent Night" at midnight.

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will hold a family Christmas celebration at 6 p.m. Friday.A traditional service will be held at 8 p.m.

Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople, will host candlelight Christmas Eve services at 4, 6, 8 and 11 p.m.The first service will feature a message for children.

Homeacre Chapel will host a candlelight communion service at 7 p.m. The service will include a musical program.

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will host a candlelight service at 7:30 p.m. A musical prelude will begin at 7 p.m.The service will include music by the handbell and chancel choirs.A service will also be held at 6 p.m. Christmas Day. The service will include lessons, carols and cake.

Memorial Church of Our Father Episcopal, 110 Church Road, Foxburg, will host a Christmas Eve service at 10 p.m.

Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will host a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.

Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 West Old Route 422, will host candlelight communion services at 4 and 7 p.m.

New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch School Road, Saxonburg, will host a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.The service will include an outdoor candle lighting. Participants should dress for the weather.

Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, Butler, will host a Christmas Eve service for families at 4 p.m. The service will include instrumental solos and a children's story.A traditional candlelight service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, Chicora, will host a candlelight communion service at 8 p.m. The service will feature music by the Chancel Choir and soloists.

North Hills Community Baptist Church, 7801 Thompson Run Road, Pittsburgh, will host a candlelight communion service at 7 p.m.

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will host a Christmas Eve service with candlelight, carols and Communion at 7 p.m. In celebration of Advent, Alice Watts will light the Christ Candle.

North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington, will host a joint Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols with Concord Presbyterian Church at 11 p.m. The service will include musical gifts, readings and stories by church members. Communion will be served.

Oak Hills Christian Church, Old Plank and Township Line Roads, will host a candlelight service at 7 p.m.The children and youth of the church will present "Twas the Night Before," a Christmas story in rhyme and song.

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will host a candlelight and communion service at 7:30 p.m.

Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, will host a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Communion will be served.The youth will help lead the service, which will feature several soloist performances.

Saint Andrew's United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will host a Christmas Eve Communion service at 7 p.m. Music will begin at 6:45 p.m.

St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, will host a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.A Christmas Day service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 25.

St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, will host a family service at 7:30 p.m. and a candlelight communion service at 11 p.m.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will host Christmas Eve services with Communion at 5:30 and 11 p.m. Singing will precede the second service at 10:30 p.m.A Christmas Day service with Holy Communion and singing will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, will host a Christmas Eve service with Communion and candlelight at 7 and 11 p.m.A Christmas Day service of lessons and carols will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will host a Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. with the Children's Choir.The Contemporary Group will hold a service at 4:15 p.m. in the social hall.At 6:30 p.m., a service will be held in the church with music by the Lamperski sisters.A Christmas Vigil Mass will begin at 10 p.m. with performances by the adult choir and the bell choir.Mass will also be celebrated at 10 a.m. Christmas Day. There will be no evening Mass on that day.

Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, at the corner of Maple and Franklin streets, Slippery Rock, will host candlelight Christmas Eve services at 7 and 11 p.m. Communion will be served at the 11 p.m. service.Refreshments will follow both services.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, will host a family worship service at 4 p.m. and Christmas Eve worship services at 7 and 10:30 p.m.

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will host a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.

Victory Christian Fellowship, 216 Mystic Pine Trail, Cranberry Township, will host candlelight services at 5 and 7 p.m.

West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury, will host a candlelight service at 6:30 p.m.The service will begin with 30 minutes of musical performances.

White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, will host a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7:30 p.m.

Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, Route 108, Slippery Rock, will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.
