Neff 60th anniversary
James "Ed" and Madeline "Sis" Neff of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage Monday. A Mass will be celebrated and dinner held today at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Summit Township to mark the occasion. A recent dinner was also held, attended by all the members of the couple's wedding party.
The former Madeline Weiland married Neff on May 21, 1947, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church.
They have seven children, Larry Neff, Frances "Fritz" Neff, Gary Neff, Douglas Neff, John Neff, Carol Rottman and Connie Severino, all of Butler. Another daughter, Diana Neff, is deceased.
They also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Neff retired from Armco after 42 years. A veteran of World War II, he is a life member of the Moose Club, VFW, the American Legion and the Happy Hunters Sportsmen Club. He also belongs to the East Butler Fire Hall and the Knights of Columbus.Mrs. Neff is a former salesperson for J.C. Penney. She also enjoyed working at the family's business, Neff's Store and Video. Mrs. Neff belongs to the Women of the Moose, East Butler Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoys playing cards with friends.The couple belongs to St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. They enjoy visiting their family camp in Kushequa.
