Betty Marie Stump
Betty Marie (Rohr) Stump, 86, formerly of Prospect, passed away Friday while under the care of the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.
Born July 2, 1926, in Adams Township, she was the daughter of the late George Lewis and Dorothy Marie (Davidson) Rohr.
Betty was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she assisted with the summer school Bible class for children, aided with the friendship Sunday school class and was a member of the TAN (Thursday At Noon) Association. Throughout the years, Betty was employed by the Mushroom Mines, was a manager of the children’s department for J.C. Penney, and worked at King’s Jewelry Store.
She was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and listening to classical and country music.
She is survived by her best friend, Judy Kennedy and her husband, Bill, of Evans City; four grandchildren, Christie Engel and her husband, J.T., of Beaver, Erik Kennedy and his wife, Melissa, of Rogers, Ohio, Sara Kennedy of Washington, D.C., and Rebekah Kennedy-Gomersall and her husband, Adam, of Hermitage; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her son, Merrill “Skip” Spahr of Meridian; her two sisters, Evelyn Adams and her husband, Don, of Winsboro, Texas, and Doris Regis of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davidson; her beloved husband, Thomas Stump; her daughter, Karen; one sister; and one brother.
STUMP — There will be no visitation or services for Betty Marie (Rohr) Stump, who died Friday, March 29, 2013.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Riverview Cemetery in Apollo.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
