Lester and Sophie Green of Butler celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends.

Green married the former Sophie Nazar on Dec. 8, 1953, at Springdale Lutheran Church in West Sunbury.

They have two children, Lester J. Green and Brenda (Green) Perfetti.

The couple owned and operated G&E Mechanical Contractors in Slippery Rock until their retirement.

Green served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is a member of the William H. Miller 769 Masonic Lodge.

Mrs. Green worked at the Butler tax office, G.C. Murphy, J.C. Penney and Western Auto. She is a homemaker.

The Greens are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Butler.
