Therapist accused of eating pot-laced cookies surrenders medical license

A former respiratory therapist with an office in West Sunbury voluntarily surrendered his state license to practice after he was terminated by the Butler Health System in January for allegedly consuming marijuana-laced cookies at work.

Vince Evan McAnallen, who was issued his license in 1995 and had an office on Gilbert Road in West Sunbury, admitted to the allegations during an internal investigation by the health system and to an investigator from the Pennsylvania Department of State's Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation, according to the department's Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs (BPOA).

A drug test he submitted to during the health system's investigation was positive for marijuana, according to the BPOA.

He surrendered his license permanently, but admitted no guilt or wrongdoing, according to a consent agreement he signed in June.
