1:05 a.m. Thursday - A car driven by Nicholas Mainhart, 21, of Sarver crossed Center Avenue, traveled off the road and struck a block wall at the home of Richard Abbott.1:39 p.m. Wednesday - A van driven by Roberta Taylor, 62, of Jefferson Township and a car driven by Larry Boyer, 64, of Butler Township collided at West Penn and North Jackson streets. Taylor was cited for a stop sign violation.1:52 p.m. Tuesday - A city man was injured when he was struck by a car at South Washington and West Jefferson streets.Gordon Baker, 62, was crossing the intersection when he was hit by a truck driven by Mary Cygan, 33, of Chicora. Cygan, who told police she did not see Baker walking on the road, was not charged.Baker was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a cut on his head and complaints of hip pain.
1:20 a.m. Thursday - Joshua Castillo, 26, of Lyndora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a hit-and-run crash at the Picklegate Crossing.Police said Castillo drove off after his vehicle struck a car driven by Jherek Christy, no age given, of Edinboro, Crawford County.Officers found Castillo in his vehicle on Bessemer Avenue about 10 minutes later. Oscar Cosme, no age given, of Renfrew, a passenger in the vehicle, tried to run away but was caught by police.Castillo faces DUI charges as well as accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and other traffic citations. Cosme was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
2:50 p.m. Dec. 10 - Michael Krysinski, 16, of Zelienople was making a right turn on Hartmann Road onto Evergreen Mill Road when the car he was driving spun on the wet road and slid into a ditch.7:52 a.m. Dec. 10 - A car driven by Danielle Maggio, 16, of Cranberry Township veered off Lutz Road, struck a tree and a utility pole. Maggio, who suffered undisclosed injuries, was cited for speeding.2:10 a.m. Dec. 10 - Donald Ruby, 45, of 243 Whitestown Road, Harmony, was arrested for driving under the influence after they found him apparently asleep in the driver's seat of a vehicle still running in the driveway of a Mercer Street home.1:10 a.m. Dec. 9 - Susan Vorderbrueggen, 67, of 610 Perry Highway, Harmony, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 19.4:07 p.m. Dec. 5 - Michael Ebert, 37, of 136 Franklin St., Evans City, was cited for disorderly conduct after he was pulled over on Route 68 near the Buy N Fly gas station for driving with a suspended license plate.10:39 a.m. Dec. 2 - A vehicle driven by Samuel Crooks, 57, of Jackson Township traveled down an embankment and rolled onto its side near the Butler Auto Auction property on Lindsay Road.8:51 a.m. Dec. 1 - A vehicle driven by Nicole Jean Von Hofen, 26, of Harmony skidded on rain-soaked Route 19 and collided with a vehicle driven by Jessiah Newman, 72, of Evans City.1:25 p.m. Nov. 28 - Vehicles driven by Keith Hoffman, 44, of Ambridge, Beaver County, and Jane Ramsey, 75, of Franklin, Venango County, collided on Little Creek Road near the Interstate 79 ramp.6:22 a.m. Nov. 28 - Glen Kovach, 36, of Cranberry Township skidded off Zehner School Road near Steeb Road and ended in a field. Kovach was cited for driving too fast for the conditions.Nov. 27 - An employee at Berry Metals on Route 68 reported that metal copper shavings were taken from the plant. The estimated value of the metal was $250.
12:32 a.m. Dec. 10 - An unidentified dark purple vehicle struck a pickup truck parked on Milton Street. The unknown driver did not stop following the crash.7:13 p.m. Dec. 7 - Vehicles driven by Thomas James Reinhardt, no age given, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, and Edwin Belles, 56, of 193 Lutz Road, Zelienople, collided on North Main Street.2:20 p.m. Dec. 9 - Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School principal George Duncan reported a lap-top computer valued at $1,325 was taken from the computer laboratory.
6:19 p.m. Thursday - William Downing, 53, of Saxonburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup tree struck a tree along Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township.2:56 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Zachary Edwards, 17, of West Sunbury struck the rear of a car driven by Agnes Soltez, 84, of Emlenton at Route 308 and Pleasant Valley Road in Cherry Township. Soltez's car, in turn, was pushed into the rear of a car driven by Doug Gebhart, 18, of West Sunbury. Edwards and Soltez, both wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries.2:41 p.m. Thursday - A pickup truck driven by William Hipple, 49, and a car driven by William McClay, 19, both of Chicora, collided on Route 68 in Oakland Township.5:50 a.m. Thursday - Donna Grudowski, 54, of Mercer lost control of her car after swerving to avoid a deer carcass on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township and collided with a disabled truck parked on the side of the highway. Grudowski, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.5 a.m. Thursday - A pickup truck driven by Kathryn Crawford, 40, of Cambridge Springs, Crawford County, struck a median on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Crawford, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said the crash occurred when Crawford apparently fell asleep at the wheel.
Wednesday - A Honda dirt bike was taken between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 5:20 p.m. Wednesday from a garage in a burglary at the Main Street home of Michael Anthony in Worthington, Armstrong County.
