Titans stop Tornado

Amy Achesinski scored a game-high 17 points, but the Butler girls basketball team dropped a 48-31 decision to Shaler in a Section 3-AAAA contest Monday.

The Titans jumped out to a 17-8 first-quarter lead and went on to post the victory over the Tornado (10-11, 4-7).

Melissa McQuade led Shaler with 13 points and teammate Jill DiNucci added 10.

Liz Burgard's 13 points and Nicole Reiser's 10 points led a balanced scoring attack in the Knights' Section 1-AAA triumph.

Knoch (11-7, 7-4) also received eight points apiece from Lauren Koegler and Jen Robinson.
