Knoch closes regular season with win
Amanda Sharbaugh and Erin Pettit each scored two goals as the Knoch girls soccer team closed the regular season in fine fashion with a 7-1 win over Valley.
Libby Burris, P.J. Abels and Maria Adler each scored goals for the Knights, who have won their last three games by a combined score of 15-1.
The Knights (12-7-1) will find out tonight who, when and where they will play in the playoffs.
Kelly Acre had 20 points, five aces and three kills and Marissa DeSalvo added 11 points, eight kills, five blocks and two aces as Freeport routed Kittanning 25-5, 25-17, 25-6.Stephanie Leslie added 10 points and 31 assists, Dana Turley had seven points and five kills and Katelyn Macurdy had eight points and three kills for the Yellowjackets (16-0, 13-0).Freeport also got a decisive win on Monday, 25-10, 25-16, 25-13 over Leechburg.Hickory 3, Slippery Rock 1 -Despite 12 kills from Jess Speicher and seven digs and 31 assists from Kristen Staugh, the Hornets won 25-20, 25-27, 25-23, 25-18.Amy Siwik added 11 points and five kills, Erica Gabreski had six points, seven digs and 13 kills, Marlena Lipko had five points and six digs and Cursty McClure had five kills for the Rockets (6-4), which will play at Wilmington Thursday.Redbank Valley 3, Moniteau 1 -Haley McFeaters had three aces, four kills and four blocks and Kristen Baronetski had seven kills and three blocks for the Warriors in their 17-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-18 loss.Amber Dillaman added four kills and three blocks and Randi Campbell had four digs and four kills for Moniteau (7-6), which plays at Keystone Thursday.
