3:46 a.m. Thursday - Frederick McIntyre, 49, of 206 Cherry Blossom Way, Evans City, was arrested for driving under the influence on West New Castle Street. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
2:30 a.m. today - Donald Sjoen, 22, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence near Summit Hall in Slippery Rock.1:53 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Sandra Husler, 60, of Sarver struck a deer at Route 8 and Beechwood Road in Center Township.12:42 p.m. Thursday - Six people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Route 422 and the Interstate 79 on-ramp in Muddy Creek Township.The crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Cori Blazavich, 26, of Creekside, Indiana County, and a mini-van driven by Mary Chalfant, 37, of Enon Valley, Lawrence County, collided at the intersection, causing the SUV to roll onto its roof.Chalfant and Anthony Bell, 16, of Enon Valley, a passenger in the mini-van, were taken with moderate injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital. Doris Howard, 68, of Elderton, Armstrong County, a passenger in the SUV, was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.Blazavich and two other passengers in the SUV, Pam Flickinger, 51, of Spring Church, Armstrong County, and Nancy Blazavich, 54, of Indiana, Indiana County, were treated for minor injuries at the scene. All occupants in the vehicles were wearing seat belts.Thursday - Two class photographs were stolen in a burglary between 2 and 9 a.m. at the Delta Zeta Sorority house on Fairview Drive in Slippery Rock.6:50 p.m. Wednesday - An unidentified dark-colored truck struck a car on Watters Station Road in Forward Township and did not stop. Mark Volkwein, no age give, of Cranberry Township, was driving the car. Ryan Bailey, no age given, of Evans City, a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries.The unknown driver of the truck sped off east on Watters Station Road after the crash. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Wednesday - Two township-owned street signs were taken at Sutherland and Enterprise roads in Mercer Township. The theft occurred between Sunday and Wednesday.12:15 p.m. Tuesday - Brett Whitmire, 26, and Tammy Hilliard, 36, both of Hilliards, were charged in connection with a burglary at the Stewart Road home of Michael Carr in Washington Township.The suspects are accused of taking a Sony Playstation, Playstation games and a bow and arrow set from the home. The items were later sold at a video game store in Butler Township.Whitmire and Hilliard were arraigned on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. Hilliard is also charged with forgery. The suspects, following arraignment, were placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bond each.Tuesday - A cell phone was taken between Sunday and Tuesday from an unlocked car on Pine Drive in Summit Township. Justin Enslen of Butler owns the stolen property.Sunday - Vandals between Oct. 30 and Sunday broke into two campers on Rocks Road in Parker Township and caused about $1,800 in damage. Rodney Lipscomp and Lois Hartman, both of Sewickley, Allegheny County, own the campers.
