BUTLER TWP — Lifesteps' Early Education Center will offer an open house and information on its free Pre-K Counts education program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the education center, Building 69 at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The program is open to children ages 3 and 4 at risk of academic failure due to income restraints.
Free Child Check developmental screenings for children age 5 and younger also will be available.

Couples planning to be married during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend should plan to apply for their marriage licenses soon.Due to the state-required waiting period, the last day to apply for a marriage license in time for a holiday weekend wedding will be Nov. 16. All licenses must be picked up by 4 p.m. Nov. 21.Marriage licenses are available at the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan's Court office at the Butler County Government Center. The office will be closed Nov. 22 and 23.
CRANBERRY TWP — Butler Health System's WholeHealth will present a program on diabetes called "Know Your HealthySteps" at 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA on Route 19.Dr. Eva Toth of Butler Regional Endocrinology will host the two-hour session that will discuss diabetes prevention and control. Free glucometers and pedometers will be provided by Bayer.The event is free, but seating is limited. LYNDORA — The Butler Cat Fanciers will host their annual cat show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.The show will feature registered show cats and household pet cats.
ZELIENOPLE — Tickets for the Christmas Home Tour, sponsored by the Zelienople Historical Society, will be sold from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Passavant House, 243 S.
