Donald W. Stubbs

Donald W. Stubbs, 75, of North Bend Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, died Thursday at Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1929, in Butler, he was the son of Earl and Ethel Brown Stubbs.

He retired in 1985 from Elkem Metals after 37 years.

Mr. Stubbs was a member of Kingsville First Baptist Church. He was a 50-year member of Rising Sun Lodge 22 F&AM.

He had been a longtime manager in the Kingsville Little League. He was a longtime softball player in the Ashtabula area and was one of the original players for the Crow's Nest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Hathy Stubbs, whom be married Aug. 18, 1956; a son, Bruce Stubbs of Boardman, Ohio; a daughter, Beverly Westover of Columbus, Ohio; a granddaughter, Lily Appugliese of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Gayle Stubbs, preceded him in death.

STUBBS - Funeral services for Donald W. Stubbs, who died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, were held at 11 a.m. today atROSS-BILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, Ashtabula, with the Rev. David Hines, his church pastor, officiating. Burial was at Saybrook Cemetery.Rising Sun F&AM Lodge 22 held Masonic services Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Kingsville Little League.
