Sophia Gawlikoski

Sophia Ann Gawlikoski, 92, of Butler died Saturday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an illness.

Born Aug. 31, 1918, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Marcella (Hodyr) Gawlikoski.

She was a graduate of The Butler Business College and had worked as bookkeeper for the Davis Furniture Co. in Butler.

Sophia was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and the Catholic Daughters of America, Butler Court 443,

Surviving are her sister, Marie Grystar of Butler; two nephews, Peter Sheptak, M.D., and his wife, Gracia, of Pittsburgh and Edward Zotter and his wife, Carmie, of Dayton, Ohio; three nieces, Marcia Bilovecki of Dayton, Ohio, Regina Danko of Pittsburgh and Marcella Scholle of Ashtabula, Ohio; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Stella Sheptak and Louise Zotter; and her brother, Stanley Gawlikoski.

<B>GAWLIKOSKI</B> — A Mass of Christian burial for Sophia Ann Gawlikoski, who died Saturday, March 12, 2011, will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler. There will be no visitation.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.Arrangements are by the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, Butler.
