Robert L. Sauer Sr.
Robert Lawrence Sauer Sr., 79, of Richland Township died Wednesday morning at his residence.
Born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Urban and Bertha Schultheis Sauer.
Mr. Sauer owned R&E Manufacturing, a steel fabricating company in Valencia.
He was an active member of St. Richard Church in Gibsonia, where he was an usher.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Marion Luntz Sauer; one son, Robert Sauer Jr. of Richland Township; two daughters, Carla Stanford and her husband, Robert and Linda Sauer-Swaboda and her husband, David, both of Zelienople; and two brothers, Henry and Bill Sauer, both in Pittsburgh. He was the grandfather of Lauren. Two great-grandchildren, 29 nieces and nephews and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Sauer; his brothers, Paul, Joe and Edward; and his sisters, Loretta and Marcella.
<B>SAUER </B>— Friends of Robert Lawrence Sauer Sr., who died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Richard Church, 3841 Dickey Road., Gibsonia, with Father Ken Oldenski, pastor, officiating.
