Edward and Betty Hart of Zelienople celebrated 60 years of marriage June 11 with a surprise luncheon celebrating the anniversary and Mrs. Hart's 80th birthday at Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church in Zelienople.

The former Betty Henshaw married Edward Hart on May 14, 1945, at the courthouse in Seattle, Wash.

They have three children, JoBeth Kuipers of Hamburg; Ronald Hart of Warner Robins, Ga.; and Randy Hart of Zelienople.

They also have seven grandchildren.

Mr. Hart retired in 1986 after 25 years at the Herman Corp. in Zelienople.

Mrs. Hart retired in 1987 after 26 years at MSA Research in Evans City, where she worked as a secretary.

The Harts belong to Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church. They enjoy traveling and reading.
