Butler, Kittanning and New Castle Beauty Schools

Linda McCarren, owner of the Butler, Kittanning and New Castle Beauty Schools, has a passion for the cosmetology business and a deep compassion for her students and wants the best for their futures. She believes that when her students succeed the whole profession succeeds.

The three academies are well known as advanced educational institutions that prepare their students to initiate and to enrich their careers in the beauty field. The students are required to meet a complete set of professional criteria from hands-on to classroom learning.

The academies provide a full student salon service that is open to the public weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers a full line of services at affordable prices.

The student salon also entertains group parties including princess-themed birthdays, Girl Scouts, senior citizens groups, proms and weddings.

The academies offer numerous programs throughout the year. The hair design program is structured to enable the students to complete their studies in as few as 10 months. Nail technicians can finish in as little as two months, and the student teachers’ course takes six months.

The academies are nationally accredited by NACCAS, and financial aid is available to those who qualify.

For information about the academies, visit www.beautyacademies.net, or text or call their directors: Melissa Vlassich at 724-996-4400 for Butler, Shirley Young at 724-841-9681 for Kittanning and Richard Powell at 724-841-9677 for New Castle.

Next door to Butler Beauty School, Cafe Main, also owned by McCarren, offers daily breakfast and lunch specials for the students and is open to the public.
