Shoop keys Knoch boys to victory

Jordan Shoop had 24 points and eight assists Wednesday night to lead the Knoch boys basketball team to a 71-50 triumph over Leechburg in the first round of the Freeport Christmas Tournament.

The Knights (7-2) will face Summit Academy — an 82-73 winner over Freeport — for the tourney title tonight.

Rob Briggs contributed 16 points and 15 rebounds for Knoch while Scott Muska scored 17 points.

Matt Schandelmeier had 13 rebounds, one day after pulling down 15 against Quigley the day before.
