Metered street parking will be free in Butler from Nov. 26 through the 29th for Thanksgiving.

City council said Thursday night it offers the free parking to encourage shoppers to go downtown on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

Council will decide additional free parking days closer to Christmas.

SAXONBURG — Anyone interested in appearing in the 27th annual Saxonburg Christmas parade or entering a float should download an entry form at the Saxonburg Area Business website at www.saxonburgbusiness.org, or contact parade organizer Joyce Hutterer at joycehutterer@@northwoof.com or 724-816-4328.

The parade will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 on Main Street.

Hutterer said she would like to have all entrants registered by Wednesday.
