Funding for signals given

HARRISBURG — Jackson and Cranberry townships will receive state funds to improve traffic signals.

Jackson will get $15,000 to retime three traffic signals along Route 68.

They are at Evans City Road and Lindsay Road in the township and in Evans City at Jackson Street and Washington Street.

Cranberry will receive $40,000 to develop contingency plans for computer software involved with traffic signals.

“These improvements not only benefit the residents of those communities, but improve safety and traffic flow for everyone who drives those roadways.” said state Sen. Elder Vogel, R-47th, who on Monday announced the state grant for Jackson Township.

The two townships are among 38 municipalities sharing $1.8 million in this round of state Green Light-Go funding, which provides grants for improving traffic signals.
