Raymond E. Trofimuk, 92, of Newhaven Court, 100 New Haven Lane, Butler, died early Saturday morning.

He was born in Butler, July 20, 1917, a son of the late Alex and Viola Trofimuk.

He retired in 1984 from the T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co. after 35 years.

He was a member of the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church in Butler.

He enjoyed watching sports and automobile racing on TV and formerly was a bowler.

A veteran of World War II, he had served in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen "Delores" Faber Trofimuk. They were married June 9, 1937, and she died Jan. 6, 2002. Also two sisters and a brother are deceased.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Sloboda and her husband, John "Junior" Sloboda of Butler; a brother, Robert Trofimuk of Butler; a sister, Christine Bauer of Cabot; two grandchildren, Misty (Edward) Tadajweski of Lebanon, Pa., and David (Jodi) Sloboda of Highfield; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Grace and Tate.

<B>TROFIMUK</B> — Private funeral services for Raymond E. Trofimuk, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, were today for his family at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Interment was at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
