Twp. woman guilty of drug distribution
A Butler Township woman, charged alongside four others with drug distribution, pleaded guilty in Butler County Court on Wednesday.
Maryrose M. Hatfield, 37, pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — heroin, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in two cases before Judge Timothy McCune.
The plea agreements call for a sentence of 15 to 30 months in state prison, probation, restitution, fines and court costs. She is scheduled to be sentenced later.
Hatfield was charged alongside Bryant K. Wells Jr., 26; Jemeal M. Youngblood, 19; and Marcus A. Wells, 23, all of Pittsburgh; and Breanna J. Aldrich, 18, of Connellsville, with two counts of felony possession with intent to deliver, one count of criminal conspiracy, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, after an incident on March 22.
The Butler County Drug Task Force filed the charges after a search warrant was executed at an apartment at 600 Hansen Ave., Lyndora, arresting the resident, Hatfield, and four others.
Officers seized 215 stamp bags of suspected heroin, about 9 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale, a small amount of marijuana, and $664 in cash as well as multiple cell phones, according to court records.
Police had been investigating alleged drug sales at that apartment since mid-February.
Hatfield also was charged with the paraphernalia count after an incident on March 13, where police said she was in possession with a syringe, spoons, empty stamp bags and crack-cocaine containers.
Hatfield continues to be held on $26,000 total bail pending sentencing.
Following arraignment, Wells Jr. was held on $75,000 cash bail and was later sentenced to two to four years in state prison; Marcus Wells on $50,000 bail and is currently awaiting further proceedings; Youngblood on $50,000 bail and was recently released on his own recognizance after his bail changed pending further court proceedings; and Aldrich awaits further proceedings after posting her $25,000 bail the day after the charges.
