Dean Kroh of Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven I apartments, formerly of Washington, Pa., celebrated his 85th birthday recently with a family dinner at Outback Steakhouse March 9.

Kroh was born March 11, 1922, in Rural Valley. He married Esther Galbreath on Sept. 2, 1949.

He has three children, David Kroh of Wexford, June Kroh of Grants, N.M., and Dean Kroh of Pittsburgh. Another son, Daniel Kroh, is deceased.

He also has six grandchildren.

Kroh retired in 1987 after working as a medical missionary with Christian and Missionary Alliance, where he is currently a member. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

He served in the Army Medical Corps for 20 months in Japan. His hobbies include Bible study, choral music, violin and travel.
