2 p.m. Friday - Erma Summerville of Butler reported a hit-and-run accident in which an unknown vehicle pulling a trailer struck the front bumper of her legally parked car on West Cunningham Street. An unidentified witness notified Summerville of the accident but didn't have any further information on the vehicle causing the damage.6:42 p.m. Monday - David Arnold Palmer, 26, of Butler, Sarah Deal, 18, of Butler and a 17-year-old Butler resident were charged with receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy in connection with the theft of two Sony Playstations, two controllers, two memory cards and 17 Playstation games worth $1,339 from a North McKean Street residence.
3:03 a.m. Saturday - James Cottrill, 41, of Butler was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness after police found him "passed out" in his vehicle at the Sheetz on New Castle Road.
3 a.m. Friday - A vehicle driven by Timothy P. Miller, 20, traveled off the north edge of the roadway, striking an embankment, a utility pole and a chain-link fence on Kiester Road near Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township. Miller, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was seriously injured and flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment. Miller was listed in critical condition as of Saturday morning. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.6:58 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Kelly L. Schaffer, 36, of Saxonburg struck an Allegheny Power utility pole while traveling east on East Water Street. Police report she was attempting to answer her cell phone while negotiating a left curve in the road. Schaffer sustained moderate injuries.3:37 p.m. Friday - A car driven by a 16-year-old female of Renfrew and a car driven by Krissy Hayward, 25, of New Castle collided on Kreiss Road in Connoquenessing Township. Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts, were not injured.Tuesday - Robert Humphreys, 50, of Butler reported the theft of a 27-inch TV/DVD player from his storage unit at Ski Mini Storage on North Road in Franklin Township between 6 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday. The lock to the storage unit was cut. Anyone with information on the theft should call state police at 724-284-8100.
11:40 a.m. Wednesday - Judith Ann Grubbs, 63, of Greensburg was charged with stealing six packs of cigarettes worth $20 from the County Market store at Pine Grove Plaza in Pine Township.10:20 a.m. Wednesday - An unidentified man driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe with a small trailer drove off from the Country Fair store on Route 208 in Springfield Township without paying for $69.37 in gas. The man fled on Interstate 79 northbound.
9:48 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Damara Petrie of Ford City left the roadway, stopping in a field off Dutch Hollow Road in North Buffalo Township in Armstrong County. Petrie, who was wearing a seat belt, wasn't injured. Her car was towed from the scene.11 a.m. June 7 - John Altmeyer Jr., 65, of Kittanning and Richard Clouse Jr., 27, of Butler were charged with operating unlicensed branch lots displaying Custom Fab Trailers at Rhino Linings on Route 422 on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. The trailers were licensed to be displayed at Altmeyer's Fabricating Ltd. on Route 422 in Plumcreek Township in Armstrong County. Clouse is accused of acting as a sales representative at Rhino Linings. Both men also were charged with several summary criminal and summary vehicle code offenses.
4:30 p.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Garrett Carlson of Fairmont City, Pa., collided with a truck driven by Vincent Hagan of Parker at the intersection of Canoe Ripple and Whitmer roads. Carlson sustained moderate injuries. Hagan wasn't injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
