Bell's homer lifts Gremlins to 3-1 win

Chad Bell hit a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Karns City High School baseball team to a 3-1 win over Redbank Valley Tuesday afternoon.

Bell also doubled and singled for the Gremlins (12-3, 9-3).

Tyler Callihan singled twice and drove in a run in the bottom of the first inning for Karns City, which is waiting to hear word about who it will face in the District 9 playoffs.

In other action:

Jesse Alfreno struck out eight and pitched three innings of no-hit baseball as Grove City wrapped up the District 10, Region 5 title with a 13-1 win over Commodore Perry. Dan Keil, Beau Fisher and Andy Geibel all homered for the Eagles.
