Butler County's great daily newspaper

VNA, Western Pennsylvania

VNA, Western Pennsylvania is a nonprofit, Medicare certified home health agency that has been serving local communities since 1965.

Headquartered in Butler, VNA has locations in Zelienople, Saxonburg, Grove City, Kittanning, Vandergrift and Chicora to serve patients in Butler, Armstrong, Lawrence, Beaver and northwest Westmoreland counties as well as parts of surrounding counties.

It employs about 300 people.

VNA began when several community members decided there was a need for “visiting nurses” in the Butler area. Since those first nursing visits, VNA has not only grown in size and territory, but also in the types of services provided.

Most people are familiar with traditional home health services, but VNA also provides at-home and inpatient hospice care, private duty, home telemonitoring, personal safety devices, medication management, home medical equipment and community wellness programs.

On Jan. 1, VNA aligned forces with Lutheran SeniorLife, based in Adams Township, to further expand their services.

Lutheran SeniorLife provides residential living, personal care, long-term care and skilled nursing care in six facilities in Western Pennsylvania, along with LIFE programs in Butler, Beaver, Lawrence and Allegheny counties. The union of VNA and Lutheran SeniorLife will allow both agencies to better serve the community with appropriate care through the continuum of life.

If you have questions about the services of VNA, call 877-862-6659 or visit www.vna.com for more information.
