Dunn

Florence Paulene Dunn, 82, of Church Street, Clintonville, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born Dec. 6, 1927, in Kennerdell, Rockland Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of Joseph William and Mary Lyla Belle Andre McDaniel.

She married Herschel Willard Dunn in 1975; he preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2000.

She attended the Pine Hill and DeWoody elementary schools in Clinton Township and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1946. She went on to graduate from Franklin Commercial College in 1947 and then was employed by the Wasson Law firm and then by Peoples Bank in Clintonville.

She attended God's Bible College in Cincinnati, Ohio, until graduation in 1961. She then began a long career of employment and ministry at the Wesleyan Methodist headquarters in Marion, Ind. Florence then moved back to Clintonville, where she lived until her death.

Florence will always be remembered as a devoted Christian who demonstrated her Savior's love and mercy to all she met, knew and loved.

Florence was actively involved in worship and ministry in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Boyers, and then in Marion, Ind., and at Clintonville United Methodist Church. She was responsible for initiating a tape and shut-in visitation ministry of the Clintonville United Methodist Church shortly after returning to Clintonville in 2000.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Lorrin, Willard, Lewis and Lloyd McDaniel; three stepbrothers, Adolph Clarke, Bill Clarke and Harry Clarke; three sisters, Bernice Stewart, Lyla Swonger and Hazel McDaniel; and a half-sister, Aileen Bell.

Florence is survived by her eight stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who will all cherish the love and example she so freely shared.

<B>DUNN</B> — Services for Florence Paulene Dunn, who died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, Clintonville, with the Rev. Lola Turnbull, pastor of the Clintonville Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Knox County, Glenmont, Ohio.
