SEVEN FIELDS — Four Republicans are vying for three seats on the borough council in the primary.

There are no Democrats on the ballot, meaning the Republican winners are virtually assured seats on the council in the fall general election.

Dr. Kevin Caridad is the only incumbent running for against three newcomers, Kimberly Regan, Brian Trimble and Jason Wehrle.

Caridad, 41, is running for his third term on the council. He works as a psychotherapist and founded his own practice, the Cognitive Behavioral Institute.

Caridad said he likes serving the community, having an impact and wants to continue to be able to do that.

“Really my focus has always been to limit our impact on citizens, keeping government small, even local government,” Caridad said. “Keeping it as small as possible, keeping it out of people's lives and keeping taxes low.”

Caridad said he voted against the one tax increase during his time on council.

Kimberly Regan

Regan, 57, has lived in Seven Fields for 25 years and said she is running for council to promote positive changes in the borough. She is a self-employed personal trainer and nutritionist.

Seven Fields is a tremendous neighborhood without excessive fees for amenities like the swimming pool, playing fields, basketball court and community center, Regan said.

If elected, she'd like to reinvest in and promote the borough's amenities to bring money back to the community.

“I think that we can improve some of the amenities,” Regan said. “We can spend money on things that can promote and help the community.”

Brian Trimble

Trimble, 53, is a structural engineer who said he wants to give back to his community. He's served on the planning commission in Seven Fields for the past four years.

He said he wants to ensure the borough has the right type of leadership to keep guiding the community into the future.

“I just want to maintain Seven Fields as a safe and family oriented community,” Trimble said. “I think Seven Fields is a great place to live. I want to make sure it stays that way.”

Jason Wehrle

Wehrle, 46, is no stranger to public service, but this is his first time running for municipal office. Wehrle, an attorney, served on the Seneca Valley School Board for five years, from 2009 to 2014. He said he likes being a part of his community and giving back.

Wehrle would like to make improvements to the community center, playing fields and pool if elected to office. He'd also like to make sure the current police presence is maintained.

“I think the folks on council have done a really good job. It seems to me that the borough is running really well,” Wehrle said. “All I see are opportunities to beautify and improve the facilities we have for folks in the borough.”
