Richard and Lois Powers of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner by Creative Catering.

The former Lois Odrey married Powers on Nov. 13, 1954, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have five children, Thomas Powers of East Butler; Michael Powers and Terrence Powers, both of Butler; Dennis Powers of Abingdon, Md.; and Robert Powers of Alexandria, Va.

They also have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Powers is retired from the pipe shop at Armco. He is a four-year veteran of the Air Force.

Mrs. Powers is retired from the Midwestern IU IV, where she worked as a teacher's aide.

The couple belongs to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
