RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Men's Quartet will provide music at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

The Shepherd's Advance Nazarene ministers' continuing education seminar will be held Friday at Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road.

Donations of 12 ounce cold cups and 8 ounce Styrofoam cups are needed for the special event committee. A receptacle is located in the downstairs lobby.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be observed at weekend services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road. Ryan Covert will speak to the congregation during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service.

The youth group will accept donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring after Sunday services.

An informational meeting for parents or guardians of youth planning to attend confirmation class will be held at 12:15 p.m. Sunday. Youth must be in seventh grade or at least 13 years of age to attend. Classes will meet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 15.

Members will provide wheelchair escorts to patients at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Sundays during February.

Pre-ordered Creation Festival ticket money is due by Sunday.

Easter candy order forms are available in the narthex.

Tickets are on sale for the adult Valentine dinner and movie set for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12. The cost is $10.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

The choir of Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday due to the Super Bowl party. An additional practice will be held Tuesday.

Valentine's Day cards will be collected through Sunday for shut-ins and the ill.

Innerchange will introduce the song "Breathe" by Marie Barnett at 7 p.m. Saturday.

COVENANT PRESBY

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

Dr. Victor Adebimpe, a psychiatrist associated with Mercy Behavior Health Center, will lead the Seekers Class at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.

The annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Silent Auction will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

On Sunday, the junior and senior high class will accept donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring, which will go to the Covenant Cupboard Food Bank.

EMMANUEL LUTHERAN

A service of Holy Communion will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Church Street, Prospect.

The congregation will join with members of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a buffet dinner at the Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect.

A potluck dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main St. Connoquenessing prior to the combined Ash Wednesday Liturgy.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP

Communion will be offered during the Sunday service at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive. Missionaries who have recently returned from Mexico and the Dominican Republic will share their experiences during the service.

Registration is now being accepted for the Women of Faith Conference at the Mellon Arena. Cost will be $65 for a two-day ticket if at least 15 people attend. Deadline to register is Feb. 20. For information, call 724-283-5092.

FIRST BAPTIST

The teen group from First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will participate in snack night after the 6 p.m. Sunday service at a site yet to be determined.

FIRST U.M.

Communion will be served at the 6 and 7 p.m. Saturday services and 8:20 a.m. Sunday service at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Valentine fun for the junior youth, ages 5 through grade 5, will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

A Shrove pancake dinner will be held Tuesday.

A parish care ministry is being developed and initiated at the church to promote wellness and provide support in time of need.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The Men's Small Group of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will hold its first meeting at 4 p.m. Sunday. Other small groups are also starting. For information on any of the groups, call the church office at 724-898-3503.

In observation of Ash Wednesday, there will be no R.O.C.K. on Wednesday.

The Girls Scouts will hold their annual Powder Puff Derby Saturday at the church.

Confirmation classes for students in grades 8 to 12 will begin at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 and will meet every Sunday through March 13. Students will join the church March 20.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

A Souper Bowl Sunday sale will be held this week at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. Homemade soup will be sold for $3 a quart after the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services. Proceeds benefit the youth fund.

A Girl's Night Out event for students in grades 7 to 12 will be held from 7 p.m. Friday to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the home of the Christa Wagner.

A Super Bowl party for students in grades 7 to 12 will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the home of the Wagner family.

A pancake and sausage dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. An offering will be accepted. The annual talent show will follow.

HIGHLAND PRESBY

Blanket Sunday will be observed this week at Highland Presbyterian Church, 310 Franklin St., Slippery Rock. Each $5 donation will buy a blanket for residents of countries served by Church World Service.

HILL U.P.

Communion will be served at the weekend services at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. The cherub choir will perform during the Sunday service.

The annual congregational service will be held at 11:35 a.m. Sunday.

A Super Bowl party for youth in grades 5 to 12 will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Brady home, 803 McKinley Ave. Participants should take a snack to share.

Reservations are due Sunday for the Senior Night Out dinner on Tuesday.

Donations of fruit and vegetable trays, drink pouches and funds are being accepted for the Wednesday night Kids' Club. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board.

Women planning to attend the Presbyterian Women's spiritual retreat Feb. 12 should contact Marian Bell. Lunch will be available during the event for $8. Donations of cleaning and paper products, light bulbs and brooms are requested.

Peanut butter and jelly are being collected for the Covenant Food Cupboard during February.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

Due to the youth service, there will be no Kid's Community during worship.

NIXON U.M.

The combined senior and junior high youth groups of Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church kitchen to prepare soups for the Souper Bowl of Caring. They will serve the soup to the congregation after the Sunday service. Donations will benefit the South Central Butler County Food Bank.

NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

A choir rehearsal for the Easter musical will be held at 7 p.m. today at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext.

Donations of baked goods for Meals on Wheels should be delivered to the church kitchen by Sunday.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The Missions Committee of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will meet after the Sunday worship service.

The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

ST. BRENDAN'S EPISCOPAL

A Shrove Tuesday pancake supper will be held form 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Brendan's Episcopal Church, 2365 McAleer Road, Franklin Park. The movie "Shrek 2" will be shown in the church school area at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A service will be held late Tuesday to burn the palms in preparation for Ash Wednesday.

ST. JOHN'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

Communion will be served at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main Street, Connoquenessing. An offering will be received to benefit the Evans City Food Bank and Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels.

A buffet dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden Gate Restaurant with the congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

A potluck dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the combined Ash Wednesday Liturgy.

TRINITY PRESBY
