6:08 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified white truck struck a vehicle parked in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street and did not stop. A witness reported that the truck had a loud exhaust and had two “Monster Energy Drink” stickers on the back window. It also possibly had a “Vulcan” sticker on it. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-287-7743.
10:30 p.m. Saturday — A burglar broke into a house in the 900 block of New Castle Road in Slippery Rock Township but apparently did not take anything. The unknown suspect got into the home after removing an air conditioning unit from a window.6:55 p.m. Saturday — A 68-year-old Venango County woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. The suspect, Dorothy M. Cheonis, 68, of St. Petersburg collided with a sport utility vehicle on Route 268 at the end of the Foxburg Bridge. The other driver, Michael J. Gardner, 62, of Emlenton was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Saturday — An Apple McBook laptop computer was stolen from The Heights Apartments on Stillwater Lane in Slippery Rock Township. The theft happened between 12:30 and 11 a.m.Sept. 9 — An unknown thief used a Clay Township couple's credit card information to make several online transactions between Aug. 8 and Sept. 9.Sept. 6 — An unidentified vehicle, possibly a burgundy Saturn, struck a mailbox in the 100 block of East Brewster Road in Center Township. The driver did not stop after the crash between 9 and 9:18 p.m. Police noted that the suspect vehicle likely has driver's side damage and may be missing a door handle. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-284-8100.
6:07 p.m. Friday — Thomas Mould, 61, of Emlenton was hurt when the sport utility vehicle crashed and rolled over on Route 322 in Ashland Township. Mould, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with moderate injuries.2:45 a.m. Friday — David J. McEwen, 63, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found sleeping in his vehicle on Doc Walker Road in Toby Township.10:55 a.m. Wednesday — One person was injured in a one-car crash in Toby Township. Cody D. Altman, 22, of Knox lost control of his car on Route 68 at Yates Road. The car struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Altman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with moderate injuries. According to police, troopers found a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.
Thursday — An unknown thief reportedly stole a wallet from a purse that was in a car on Montgomery Flats Road in Manor Township. The wallet contained $200, the owner's driver's license and a bank debit card. The theft happened between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday.Sept. 8 — About 20 sheets of aluminum house siding was taken from Yellowdog Road in West Franklin Township. The siding was taken between Sept. 1 and 8.
4 p.m. Sunday — One of three suspected shoplifters pulled a knife and threatened to “cut” a security guard before the trio made their getaway from the Aeropostle store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. No injuries were reported. The unknown suspect with the knife is a black man; his accomplices were both black women.Friday — Police recovered a motorcycle that was stolen three days earlier from a garage at a home on Irishtown Road in Pine Township. The unknown thief stole the cycle, valued at $7,000, and several other unspecified pieces of property on Sept. 10.
