Patrick G Doerr
Patrick G Doerr, 63, of Butler died at 5 a.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born March 19, 1948, in Butler, the son of the late of Ralph N. Doerr and the late Linnie Fitzpatrick Doerr.
He attended Youngstown State University before serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. While at YSU, he set records in swimming.
He was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He retired from the Veteran's Administration Hospital, now VA Butler Healthcare, in 2009 following 29 years in the food services department. He also had been employed at Pullman Standard.
He enjoyed car shows, where he won several trophies.
Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Rankin Doerr; two sons, Jason (Chris) D. Doerr of Butler and Shaun P. Doerr, also of Butler; and three grandchildren, Tonya, Ashlyn and Decklyn. Also surviving are one brother, Jack (Marsha) Doerr of Butler and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Karol Doerr Miller.
