Moniteau's superintendent resigns
CHERRY TWP -- The Moniteau School Board Monday night accepted the resignation of Superintendent George Svolos, pending the solicitor's review and approval of a final agreement.
District business manager John D'Amore was approved as acting superintendent.
School solicitor Andrea Parenti said other information related to Svolos' resignation is still confidential.
Svolos has been away from the school for the past two weeks. Other administrators and school board members reported that Svolos was on vacation.
D'Amore's appointment is effective immediately. He also served as acting superintendent in 1999 and in 2010.
