SR boys soccer team shuts out Sharon, 5-0

Rockets keep rolling

Nick Kingerski continued his stellar season with three goals and an assist as Slippery Rock overwhelmed Sharon, 5-0, in boys soccer action Monday.

Hunter Berry scored a goal and added a pair of assists, Trent Davey scored once while Gavin Siegfried and Cole Kovacik both contributed an assist.

The Rockets (10-3-1, 6-0-1) are unbeaten in their last seven games.

Girls Soccer

Leah Weiland’s five goals sparked Butler to an 8-0 win over Shaler.

Sydney Patterson, Jessica Mohney and Lydia Mohney each scored one goal apiece for the Golden Tornado (8-6, 6-5).

Girls Volleyball

Slippery Rock downed Karns City in three sets; with the scores being 25-22, 25-19, and 25-18. The Gremlins’ Rosalie Carden had four kills, 13 assists. Natalie Hess chipped in with another seven kills and a pair of blocks.

Girls Tennis

Butler dropped a 5-0 decision to host Upper St. Clair in the first round of the WPIAL Class 3A team tournament.

The Golden Tornado finish the season with a record of 7-5.
