The Butler County Memorial Hospital Nurse's Alumni will host a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the private dining room at Butler Memorial Hospital. Entertainment will be by ventriloquist Cindy Speck.

Participants should take donations for the Caring Angel Baby/Toddler Basket.

Children's activities available Friday

The Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center, 501 Fairground Hill Road, will be open for Kids Klub activities from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday for the Veterans Day holiday.

BUTLER TWP — A Crop for Project Hope scrapbooking event will be held from 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday at the Meridian Veterans Club, 125 Veterans Club Road.Cost is $30 per person and registration is required. Participants will receive four feet of work space, a continental breakfast at 10 a.m., dinner at 4 p.m. and coffee and chocolates. BRUIN — Bruin Elementary School will hold a Veteran's Day assembly at 10 a.m. Thursday in the gymnasium.World War II veterans in the area are invited to participate in the event.

PROSPECT — The Butler After Five Womens Club will host a Christmas Gathering Tuesday at The Atrium, Route 422.Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. The event will include a Chinese auction, bake sale, fashion show and music by Beth and Lyric Ackelson.The speaker for the event will be Shirley Ryder who will speak on the topic "Enjoying Peace During the Challenges of Life."Cost is $12 and reservations are due Friday by calling Patty Reigh, 724-287-7021.
