Robert Bernard Gallagher II
Robert Bernard Gallagher II of Franksville, Wis., 69, passed away on Thursday at Becker Shoop Center. He suffered from dementia.
Robert was born in Butler on Nov. 16, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Miller Sutherland and his father, Robert B. Gallagher.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou Gallagher; and his sister, Joan Hostetler of Cabot. He is also survived by his nieces, Jody Tack of Butler, Michelle Faybik of Cabot and Dawn Phillips of Woodberry Forest, Va., and their children.
Bob proudly served his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He graduated from Knoch High School in Saxonburg, received his B.A. in accounting from Grove City College in Grove City and his M.B.A. from Golden Gate University at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, S.C.
Bob's career was in manufacturing management. This took him to several wonderful locations in the United States, and in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, England and Brazil. He worked for Talon, a division of Textron in Stanley, N.C., Morton, Miss., and Lake City, S.C. Robert worked for Federal Mogul in Summerton, S.C. He worked for Case Corp. in Wausau and Racine, Wis. Bob worked for Zenith Electronics in Melrose Park, Ill. In addition to these companies, he served as a manufacturing consultant.
Bob was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. He enjoyed reading, card games, and most of all, golf. He will be remembered fondly by friends and family as a loyal and caring man.
