RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Chrisann Green and Krystal McIndoe will provide music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68. A soup and salad luncheon will follow the service.

A Sweetheart Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Cooper Station Restaurant in Sarver. Reservations are required. A sign-up sheet is posted at the church.

Medium-sized tubes of toothpaste for the Crisis Care Kits donations can be taken to the church foyer.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The youth group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will sponsor an adult Valentine Dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. A movie will follow at 8:30 p.m. Childcare is available with a donation.

The first weekend in the Lenten season will be observed with service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Boy Scout Sunday will be observed with scouts participating in the services.

Blood pressure screenings will follow the weekend services.

The weekly Lenten Bible study, led by the Rev. Oden Warman, will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The 2005 confirmation class will hold its first instructional meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A special charge conference concerning the financing of the heat and air conditioning project has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the church council should attend.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Innerchange will present a praise and worship medley at 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

The Wednesday class led by Tom Walker will begin a new study in Hebrews on Wednesday.

Donations of soups, cereals, pasta and crackers are needed for the Helping Hands table.

Lauran Gillespie, Phil Hixon and Ashley Glover will provide music for the Sunday service.

CONCORD PRESBY & NORTH WASHINGTON PRESBY

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated during the Sunday services at Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, and North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington.

In celebration of its 125th anniversary, a concert featuring gospel singer Ken Metrick will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at North Washington Presbyterian Church. Ice cream, cherry pie and beverages will be served after the concert. An offering will be received.

COVENANT PRESBY

Dr. Victor Adebimpe, a psychiatrist associated with Mercy Behavior Health Center will lead the Seekers Class Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

The food bank is requesting donations of ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise for the month of February. Baskets for the donations are in the Jefferson Street entrance hallway.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP

The Alliance Women of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will host a Valentine box luncheon for the women of the church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the lower level of the church. The guest speaker will be Lynn McGarvey, a missionary from Peru. Participants should take a lunch in a decorative box or basket for another participant to enjoy. Prizes will be given for the most attractive and original containers.

The Alliance Men will host a Last Flight Out event with hors d'oeuvres and a movie at 7 p.m. Saturday. The event is open to all men.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Berean Sunday school class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Old Country Buffet at Moraine Point Plaza.

The teen youth group will meet at the church at 1 p.m. Saturday for SnowBlast 2005 - a trip to Hidden Valley Ski Resort for skiing and snowboarding. They will return to the church at midnight.

The Koinonia Sunday School Class will hold a class social beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Baptist Youth Center. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert to be judged on taste and appearance. The event will also include a devotional and game time.

Bethany Dean, a missionary appointee to Mexico City, will be the guest speaker at the 6 p.m. Sunday service. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Grove City and will minister as a missionary teacher in Mexico City under the auspices of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism.

FIRST U.M.

Ministry training for children will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.

Kids Bells will perform at the 6 p.m. Saturday service.

The Mainhart family will provide music for the God's Country service at 7 p.m. Saturday service in Epworth Center.

Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays throughout the Lenten season.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Communion will be observed at the 6 p.m. Saturday service at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Prayer Shawl Knitters will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday during Sunday school.

A healing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

A cabinet meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and the ministry meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A parenting class will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 17.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The Lord's Supper will be observed at Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

There will be no youth group on Sunday due to the Middle School Retreat.

The Cub Scouts Blue/Gold Banquet will be held Sunday.

The Stewardship & Planning Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday and the Evangelism Committee also will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Down's Syndrome Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 17 in Fellowship Hall.

The Third Annual Children's Festival, Extreme World Makeover, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 26, All children, ages 4 through 5th grade are welcome. GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Members of the Faith Shapers Class at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have a pool party from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Comfort Inn. Participants should meet at the church at 4:30 p.m. and will return at 9:30 p.m. Cost is $5 and dinner will be provided.

The congregation will attend a combined Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

HIGHLAND PRESBY

Jim Cossin, the director the Seneca Hills Camp will speak at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Highland Presbyterian Church, 310 Franklin St., Slippery Rock. The camp is celebrating its 70th year.

HILL U.P.

Following the 30-Hour Famine, a Break the Fast potluck dinner will be held after the 6 p.m. Saturday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Music will be provided by the band Thousands Fall.

The Kingdom Ringers will perform at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.

The deacons will host a tureen dinner at noon Sunday in McCaslin Hall. Bring place settings. If desired, you may bring a dessert for the dessert contest.

MT. CHESTNUT PRESBY

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Persons who serve in the childcare and nursery ministry at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will be honored and recognized during the 10 a.m. Sunday service. Childcare and nursery ministries deacon Becky Stallsmith will lead the recognition time.

Son-LIFE for children, teens and adults will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at Knoch School.

The senior high mission team that will serve at Tapestries of Life Ministries in Guadalupe, Mexico, will sponsor a fund-raising event Feb. 15 to 17 at the Cranberry Township. NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

Tickets are now available for the Men's and Boys' Wild Gave Feast to be held at 6:30 p.m. March 11. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door.

OLD UNION PRESBY

RIDER LUTHERAN

Theme dinners will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Wednesday evening services will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Themes include soup and sandwiches on Wednesday, pasta on Feb. 23, a picnic dinner on March 2, an ethnic dinner on March 9 and another soup and sandwich dinner on March 16.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

The United Methodist Women will host a soup and sandwich luncheon after the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets. Proceeds will benefit mission projects.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

The first of five Lenten lunches will be held after the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City. The free lunches are sponsored by the worship committee and will feature Bible trivia games.

Participants in the "Why Do You Cry" spring musical will meet for extra practices on Sunday. Ensembles will meet at 6 p.m. followed by the choir at 7 p.m. and those with dialogue at 8 p.m.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

A Eucharist service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St. Brunch and the annual meeting and election of new vestry members will follow.

Lenten study will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rev. Geary will deliver the message at the 7 p.m. Wednesday service at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

Stations of the Cross will be held at 7 p.m. every Friday during Lent at St. Richard Roman Catholic, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia. A discussion of "The Passion of the Christ" will follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Guatemala Mission Group will sponsor a buffet breakfast after the 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday Masses. There is no charge, but a donation will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the orphanage in Patzun, Guatemala.

The high school youth group will participate in the Diocese Love Walk for the Poor at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The church will host a series of Lenten talks on the Passion and Resurrection narratives from the gospels at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 15, March 1 and March 8. The Rev. Justin Matro will be the guest speaker.

The congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr., will participate in a combined Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

TRINITY PRESBY

Services will be held at noon Wednesdays during Lent at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave. A luncheon will follow each service.

Sugar is being collected for the Covenant Food Cupboard during February.

Volunteers will serve the community meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Andrew's United Presbyterian Church.

WEST SUNBURY U.P.

The seven-week series of "Purpose Driven Life" services will conclude this week at West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury.

The Wee Believers group will resume its meetings this week. The group meets from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays and includes games, singing, Bible stories and dinner.

WHITE OAK SPRINGS PRESBY

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday service at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew.
