Roy A. “Buster” Wyant

Roy A. “Buster” Wyant, 74, of Petrolia passed away at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at home.

Roy was born Oct. 26, 1938, in West Monterey, Clarion County. He was the son of the late Arthur Robert Wyant and the late Esther Delores McFadden Wyant.

He attended the Karns City Methodist Church. He was a retired pipe fitter at Indspec with more than 30 years of service.

Roy is survived by his wife, Martha Long Wyant, whom he married June 14, 1980, and by six children, including three sons, James Arthur (Jessica) Wyant of Petrolia, Roy Wayne (Tammie) Wyant of Lancaster, and Chauncey Wyant of Wichita, Kan.; and three daughters, Deborah (Jim) Martin of Kansas, Virginia (Daniel) McTigue of Lancaster and Pam Cook of Lancaster, along with 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving Roy are his siblings, including two sisters, Patricia Watterson of Parker, and Mrs. George (Arlene) Saye of Parker; and two brothers Bill (Mary) Wyant of Petrolia and Bob (Beryl) Wyant of Parker; and a number of nieces and nephews. Roy helped to raise two nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Donnie (Dec. 1971), his sister Dorothy Brown (July 2007), his brothers Raymond Wyant Sr. (Dec. 2006) and Kenneth Wyant, and one granddaughter.

WYANT— Friends of Roy A. “Buster” Wyant, who passed away at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, will be received at the WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 1:30 to 3:30 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with retired Methodist minister Pastor Glenn Kohlhepp officiating.Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.For more information, or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
