Wednesday — Police charged Anthony D. Riegel, 45, of Butler with bad checks for bouncing a $400 check March 5. The check, which Riegel issued to his landlord for rent, was written on an account with insufficient funds.Monday — Police filed drug-related charges against Thomas E. Saeler, 38, of Butler after they found him staggering on East North Street about 7:11 p.m. Friday. Officers arrested him after they noticed a syringe sticking out his pocket. He was searched and found with seven more syringes.Additionally, the search turned up a stamp bag of suspected heroin, an empty stamp bag, a broken spoon, and five anti-anxiety pills for which Saeler did not have a prescription.Saeler is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness,Monday — Police filed drug-related charges against Jeremiah C. Jackson, 35, of Butler stemming from a traffic stop at 5:12 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of West New Castle Street. Jackson, a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped, was found with suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

2:30 a.m. Wednesday — Two teenagers were caught drinking after police found them walking on Morton Avenue. Timothy McCullough, 18, of Chicora and a 16-year-old Butler boy, who police did not identify, were cited for underage drinking.

2:20 a.m. Tuesday — A car struck a utility pole along Route 268 in Bruin. The driver, who police did not immediately identify, fled.11:58 p.m. Tuesday — Richard E. Kober, 58, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility vehicle struck several PennDOT construction lane markers on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.5:37 a.m. Tuesday — Sydney L. Rasp, 19, of Evans City was hurt when the car she was driving struck a pole along Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. Rasp, who apparently fell asleep at the wheel, was cited for a lane violation.Monday — A thief stole about $500 worth of electrical wire at a construction site on Crab Apple Drive in Center Township. E.R. Erdley & Sons Construction of Kittanning owns the wire that was stolen between Friday and Monday.

5:40 p.m. Tuesday — Zachary T. Stennett, 19, of Worthington faces drug charges after he was found with 25 grams of suspected marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 28 near exit 19 in East Franklin Township. Stennett was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped because the driver had a suspended license.
