James W. Mosier
James W. Mosier, 70, of Chicora died Thursday in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 26, 1934, in Butler, he was the son of James Wilson and Katherine Daugherty Mosier.
Mr. Mosier was a member of the North Street Christian Church. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he was on the USS Champlain. He belonged to the American Legion Post 778 and the VFW Post 249, where he served as commander of the military honor guard. His hobbies included bowling and bingo.
He retired from Armco Steel's plant protection department after 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gallagher Mosier, whom he married Dec. 28, 1990; two daughters, Leanne Kay Albright of Butler and Carolyn M. Everetts of New Castle; four stepsons, George Hamilton McCartney III of Forestville, Russell James McCartney of Chicora, Robin Lee McCartney of Boyers and Brian Wayne "Bug" McCartney of East Brady; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Judith) Horst of Lakeview and Janet Hancock of Louisville, Ky.; and a brother, Joe Mosier of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Lea Thompson Mosier, who died Jan. 23, 1978, a son and two infant daughters.
MOSIER - Friends of James W. Mosier, who died Thursday, June 16, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St..There is a VFW Post 249 service at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
