Eakin, Skidmore
Megan Eakin and Tyler Skidmore, both of Houston were united in marriage July 8 at Lake Latonka Gazebo and Gardens in Mercer. The Rev. Jim Smith officiated. A reception followed at Lake Latonka Club House.
The bride is the daughter of Bonnie Eakin of Butler and Wayne and Donna Eakin of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Christopher and Kim Skidmore of Butler.
The honor attendant was Amanda Skidmore of Washington. Bridesmaids included Lauren Skidmore of Butler, Ashley Kennedy of Houston and Jessica Green of Houston.
Performing the duties of best man was Doug Green of Houston. Ushers included Joey Marak of Butler, Jacob Eakin of Butler, Alex Goodrich of Houston, Travis Eakin of Butler and Isaiah Lucas of Butler.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Knoch High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in 2014 and a master’s degree in education in 2015, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
She is a first-grade teacher at Alief Independent School District in Houston.
The bridegroom graduated from Butler High School in 2008. He received a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling in 2014 from West Virginia University.
He is employed by Erie Insurance.
For their honeymoon trip, the couple took a Disney Cruise and visited Disney World.
