The General Richard Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are hosting an open house at the Little Red School House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

The organization is partnering with the Butler County Historical Society to promote the site and to educate the public as to its rich history. The DAR chapter once used the school as its meeting place, so members are “very vested” in preserving the building.

Education and historical preservation are two of the three main objectives of DAR since its founding in 1890. The open house is free to the public, and Steve Cicero, also known as the History Hobo, will give a lecture and answer any questions.
