Knoch girls soccer wins
Megan Vasas scored twice while Bella Oskin and Kam Burtner both netted one goal in Knoch’s 4-1 girls soccer win over Greensburg Salem on Thursday.
The victory came a day after the Knights upended Deer Lakes, 2-1. Gretta Hull turned a cross from teammate Brooke Galcik into the winning goal in the 76th minute Wednesday night.
Vasas scored on a penalty kick to knot the game at 1-1 late in the first half.
Paige Rodgers stopped seven shots for the Knights.
Knoch (6-3, 3-1) travels to Ambridge Saturday.
Karns City 7, Redbank Valley 1 — The Gremlins moved to 7-3 on the season by routing the Bulldogs.
Hanna Dailey scored three goals and added an assist while Emma Dailey scored one goal and had two helpers.
McKenna Martin, Aubrey Price and Sarah Dodd each posted a goal and Sophia Bonetto contributed an assist.
Slippery Rock 17, Sharon 0 — The Rockets celebrated Senior Night with a scoring spree against the Tigers.
Finding the net were Olivia Rock (4), Ella Thimons (2), Emma Hays (2), Simone Laslavic (2), Hannah Plunkard (2), Emily Plyler (2), Mackenzie Balquist, Ava Daugherty and Calley Wolinski.
Butler’s Drew Griffith finished in a time of 17 minutes, 58 seconds to place first in a meet against Mars and North Hills Tuesday at North Park.
The effort helped the Golden Tornado defeat the Planets (17-46) and Indians (23-36).
In the girls meet, the Tornado’s Ava Brewster paced the field at 22:06 as Butler defeated Mars 21-34 and North Hills 15-50.
The Planets’ Riley Mayer was third (23:59) to help lead a win over North Hills.

Seneca Valley advanced two juniors from the Section 1-3A Tournament, held Thursday at Diamond Run Golf Club.
Junior Lihini Ranaweera placed first at the event with a 73. Madison Sharek was fourth with an 80.
Both golfers advance to the WPIAL semifinal round.
Knoch junior Emily Greb defeated Winchester Thurston’s Cecilia Gurgel 6-2, 6-2, in the WPIAL Class 2A singles consolation match at Bethel Park High School.
The win earns for Greb a berth into the upcoming state tournament.
Ryan Porch and Wyatt Kos both carded a 39 to help lift Butler to wins over Kiski Area and Penn Hills at Green Oaks Country Club.
The Golden Tornado shot 205 while Kiski came in at 215 and Penn Hills 286.
Hunter Swidzinski added a 40 for Butler (12-4).
Freeport 206, Burrell 231 — The Yellowjackets’ strong season continued at Buffalo Golf Course.
Cam Zigo carded a 38 and Stephen Evans a 39 for Freeport (16-1, 14-0).

Garrett Risch scored a goal off an assist from Nick Dobransky in Freeport’s 3-1 loss to Shady Side Academy.
Ethan Rapp had 11 saves for the Yellowjackets (4-5, 4-4).
Slippery Rock 9, Sharon 0 — Hunter Berry struck for three goals and added two assists while Nick Kingerski scored twice and assisted twice.
Cole Kovacik had a goal and added a pair of assists. Nate Jesteadt, Gavin Siegfried and Collin Wimer each found the net once.
Austin Hess and Max Kovacik had one helper apiece for the Rockets (6-3, 2-0).
Moniteau lost to Clarion by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-19.
Marissa Pry tallied five kills, Davina Pry five blocks for the Warriors.
Sophia Tennent added three kills and Bella Hernandez three blocks.
A-C Valley 3, Punxsutawney 1 — Another standout night from Lexi Ruckdeschel sparked the Falcons at home.
The senior had 14 kills and 11 digs. Mackenzie Parks totaled five kills and 16 digs in the 25-22, 15-25, 25-19 and 25-7 win.
Jenna Stefanacci added 18 assists and 10 digs for A-C Valley (5-2).
North Catholic 3, Knoch 0 — For the Knights (2-4, 2-2), Sierra Mock had five kills in this 25-14, 25-9, 25-14 loss.
Karns City 3, Union 0 — The Gremlins completed this sweep of the Damsels by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-13.
Rosalie Carden led the victory with eight kills, four aces and four assists.
Ava Fox also starred with eight aces and five kills. Kendall Ritzert chipped in with 12 assists and Hailey Karenbauer four kills.
