12:06 p.m. Tuesday — James Tiani, 54, of Emlenton was charged with stealing tools, a toolbox and a dolly from a box truck owned by Catholic Charities. Tiani was identified by a witness who saw him leaving the truck parked along West New Castle Street. Tiani admitted to stealing the tools and said he sold them to the S & S Variety store on South Main Street. All items were recovered and returned to the charity.10:18 a.m. Saturday — Margaret Lang, 64, of Butler reported someone stole a stainless steel grill from her porch.Her son went searching for it and found the grill near BDS Personal Care Products on West Diamond Street.Estimated value of the grill is $1,500.
9:50 p.m. Wednesday — A Ford F-250 pickup truck collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Evans City Road and South Eberhart Road. William Wehr, 60, of Butler and a 16-year-old Butler boy were the drivers of the vehicles.Both lanes of traffic on Evans City Road had to be temporarily shut down due to the accident.
